Quick Update……

We are currently on a mooring at the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park which is one of the most beautiful places we have ever seen. The park comprises a number of cays in its twenty plus miles of length and also goes four nautical miles out to sea on both sides. The result is that, as far as the eye can see in all directions, the land is completely protected, ie no development what so ever. The entire park is a no take zone so wildlife is abundant, right down to the barracuda and sharks living in the mooring field that all have names as if they were pets.

We have been snorkeling and hiking some of the many trails in the park and yesterday I cleaned the bottom as much as possible with just snorkel and right now am trying to decide if I want the go to the effort to don SCUBA gear and finish the job. We are just at the end of slack tide so the current is strong and the wind is piping up and moving the boat around a lot, so it will most likely be put off until the conditions are improve.

We are staying here as we are expecting very strong winds and high seas for the next 3 to 4 days. We are on a high capacity mooring and as we do not know the anchoring conditions at our next planned stop, have decided to weather it out here. The other reason is that this place is so very beautiful. The log I had written for this entry included some comments on the colors of the Bahamas, so I am going to put a lot of pictures in (something I swore I would not do) hoping that they will communicate the beauty of what we are seeing here in person.
